nurse betty syndrome was something more so in the soap operas. people sitting at home believeing what they were seeing on tv was real.
now that we have reality shows on tv. i know people who watch these shows like THE BACHELOR and believe in that crap to the point they make no sense in the things they say and do.
which explains why younger and older adults are having so much trouble falling in love. another dunmb show SEX IN THE CITY. people who watch it find comfort in knowing they aren’t the only ones alone, another case of NURSE BETTY SYNDROME.
are parents failing to teach their children the right and wrong on how it really is in a realationship or finding somebody. thes show lower our social iq and lowers our standards of respect.
when will my friends take back their lives and be themselves.
how could these show have such a hold on them, especially the younger ones in there 20s.
they will be the next generation of sex in the city losers.

This is great!! I was reading through some of these questions and was just telling my self some people take these shows waaaayyy too seriously.

I’m a soap fan. I love to have my opinions and share them with other fans, but I definetely can separate the actor from the character and real from fake. I know you were trying to be sarcastic in asking this question, but there are those who do live vicariously through characters they see on television.

Soaps in particular are an excape. It was an excape for the housewives in the 40’s and 50’s. And still is an excape for working men and women and students today. Where is can you turn to where everyone doesn’t worry about paying bills, making ends meet, no one goes to jail or stays there for long, and everyone is beautiful. Can’t find that anywhere but a soap. Your friends who enjoy this excape, but don’t want to live in reality may need something to balance out the day. Tell them to turn off the tv for a week and assure them that they will be able to pick right back up from where they left off cause thats one of the most beautiful things about soaps!
