What do itchy ears and an itchy throat signify?

For the past 3-4 days, my ears and throat have been terribly (almost unbearably; certainly annoyingly!) itchy. I’ve got some definite post-nasal drip along with a cough, stuffy nose, and fever around 99.2. The worst, however, is definitely the itchy ears and throat. What does this mean? [Serious answers only, please. Thank you in advance!]

ears and throat are connected so you could have inhaled a irratant, could have inhaled something your allergic to, or have sinus troubles such as an infection… if its mild irritation don’t worry to much but if it consists or gets worse i suggest seeing a doctor (duh, im simple minded at times [:)
