Should I use my ankle support?

I'm a cheerleader, and when we do tumbling (back of hands back, back pleats, etc) I use always down hard on the ankle and jam. hurts for a day or two, but better. I was told that probably I had weak ankles, and sometimes gave, if I had some ankle support. After a while, I'm lazy and do not use. I no more classes in fall, and since we were conditioning, i was not much tumbling in cheerleading, but now even if it does not take tumbling classes, my ankle hurts me sometimes, like when i run in the gym, or if errors occur. I start using it again?

Also I have weak ankles. use the support. It will help in the long term.
