Pain In Arm After Blood Pressure Test?
is it possible for test of blood pressure to cause pain in the arm after the fact i have pain in the arm and redness where it was wrapped around it was earlier this morning when i took the test
it was done manually by the dr not with an automated thing
This will help you to understand your problem which can be due to fault of doctor.
1) In manual method the radial artery must be palpated while pushing the mercury up. When the arterial pulsation has stopped the stethoscope reading must be taken accordingly and as early as possible.
2) Some raise the mercury very high, and than take the BP bringing the mercury down slowly which results in excruciating pain in arm and numbness and redness.
3)However this will go away if you apply hot sponging and analgesic.
