I am terrified I have diabetes and I?

am just waiting on my appointment. However, I see rite aid has a free ACCU-CHEK Aviva Blood Glucose Monitor in this weeks ad. If I get one and use it will I be able to tell if I am a diabetic? I have never used one before and I don’t know much about them, but I am really impatient and scared.

You will still need to purchase test strips to go with the monitor in order to test your blood sugar. Some of the monitors can be a little tricky to use for first-timers, and pricking your finger for it is rather unpleasant. It is best to wait and see what the doctor tells you, and if you have diabetes, your doctor will need to discuss treatment plans with you anyway.

If you do end up having diabetes, there are many medications available now that can help you manage the disease. Don’t worry, doctors, nurses, and pharmacists are all very knowledgeable and can help you with treatments.

If you wish, you could still pick up the monitor (since it is free) so you would have it if you end up with a diabetes diagnosis.
