Aviva Diabetic Test

Gestational Diabetes and problems with diabetic meters, can anyone help?
I was just diagnosed with gestational diabetes and because of my art, I can’t bear to test out of my fingers anymore. My doctor just switched from a Prestige IQ meter to an Accu-Chek Aviva meter and he requested that I use both for a week to ensure testing results were similar. I am finding that I have sometimes up to a 30 point difference between both meters, even from the same blood from the same finger. Can anyone tell me why?
My prestige IQ is set up on the Plasma setting and I used the Aviva default. Even when I change settings on the Prestige IQ to blood instead of plasma like I was told to use, the results are still 30 or more points off.
Can anyone help me figure out what’s going on with my glucose meters?

I have GD and use the Accu-Chek Advantage meter. My endocronologist didnt recommend testing from my arm since it’s common for inaccurate readings 
Have you tried pricking the side of your finger? Rather than just the tip? It can be less painful in the long run, I only test on my left hand and I have to test 6x daily?! Rub a lil’ vasaline to your fingertips before you go to bed, helps them from getting dry and cracked.
You could have a bad meter too? Next time your at an appointment, have them check your blood level with their meter along with yours?
