Is there a way to correct the back deformity caused by scoliosis?

I have had surgery on my spine to correct my scoliosis 14 years ago. I have had no physical complications since, but I am left with the usual back defortmity: My right shoulder blade sticks out prominantly and my ribcageas well. My left side, is very pushed in, you can hardly see my shoulderblade and it looks very odd from the side…like I am super skinny. Basically uneven musculature on one side of my spine, and my hips are uneven.
I feel no pain and physically I am doing very well.

I haven’t heard of any surgeries that could correct this. Sorry! You are using your muscles differently though due to the scoliosis. Most likely one side is weaker than the other. When you move or do exercises try and focus more on the side you know is weaker. This may make you feel like you are standing straighter and hopefully give you some confidence as well. I’m a scoliosis sufferer and the doctor wouldn’t even give me a brace…wasn’t severe enough he said. My hips are uneven and I have sway back or lordosis. My spine has more prominant muscles on one side than the other and the weak side is very sensitive to the touch. I make sure to sit tall, roll my shoulders back when I walk and tuck my hips under me, and stretch before and after any exercise. I don’t know if this will help you but it works for me.
