Getting the seat off a 2006 harley electra glide standard?

My buddy is overseas with the military, he wanted me to take the battery out, how does the seat come off, dont want to break his pride and joy

Remove the machine screw from the center top of the rear fender just behind the seat. Lift the back of the seat up slightly and pull toward the back of the bike. That’s how it is for an ‘02. I don’t think the ‘06 would be any different.
