Is it normal for my betta fish to prefer sleeping on his side like he’s in a bed?

There are a few stones that are in the bottom of his tank and recently he’s been lying down on them like they are a bed, completely on his side. At times I have to go up to the tank and tap gently on the glass just to make sure that he is still alive. He doesn’t appear sick and he is very active. I’m just wondering if something could be wrong since this is a recent thing or if he is just weird.

well usually when fish lay on their side it’s usually sick or dyeing, but it’s usual for them to lie on the bottom of the tank on their belly. but if he’s acting normal than he should be fine. just watch him carefully i have 2 Betta’s and sometimes they lie on their sides and they are still alive and well!
