What goes with a maroon wall and beige couches?

I am moving into a new house and i have a large red/maroon wall. I have beige couches and already have beige/off white curtain for sliding glass door. I can not figure out what color to use for the curtains in the living room, which is across the room from the sliding glass door. I bought brown, not really sure if that will look good. Anyone have an suggestions?

Since green compliments red, try something in a muted green like a sage or olive colour. Get some paper in different colours of green (as big as possible) & put them up on the wall until you find one you like. Don’t worry about the beige, it should blend with anything.
