Carpal Tunnel -help me find a wrist brace?

I am in the early stages of Carpal Tunnel- what would be a good wrist brace that would allow me to type but not too restrictive.

Long story short, you should really ask your doctor or physical therapist. If you haven’t seen a doctor, you really should.

Having been through years of pain and suffering myself, I can tell you that nothing you find at Walmart, Walgreens, Target or any other pharmacy is going to be comfortable to wear. Your doctor/therapist will have much better braces in terms of comfort and quality. You can also order them online (I would recommend a florida orthopedics, but there are many other good options).

Also, the previous answer is correct about carpel tunnel. Night time wear only… you may have noticed your fingers tingle/hurt more in the morning, it’s because of how people tend to sleep. You will want to have your hand cocked-up, which opens the carpal tunnel to relieve pressure on the nerve bundle. During the day, you just need to make sure your work area is correctly set up and that you are not flexing/extending your wrist while typing. Also, stretch regularly, especially before/after wearing the brace to prevent hardening of your joints.

Of course, none of this helped me. But hopefully it will you. Just make sure they do all the appropriate tests (including an MRI) to make sure it is carpal tunnel and not something else. After years of thinking I had carpal tunnel (made perfect sense, I’m a software engineer with 15+ years under by belt), they finally did an MRI to discover I had something completely different (osteoarthritis).
