Brain Fog – Wierd Symptoms (please help!)?

Over the last couple of years, my body has been doing wierd things. Lately I have had only what I can describe as brain fog, decreased mental capacity, always tired, can’t focus. Other symptoms I have had are trouble sleeping, bowel changes over the last 2 years, sexual impotence, anxiety, panic attacks and fatigue. In the last 6 months it has gotten really bad and now I am having problems staying awake during the day (I get 8-9 hours every night of rest). I was completely healthy up until the last 3 years or so and since then the doctors have been able to find nothing. I have had bloodwork, urine tests, Upper GI, 2 Brain MRI’s, and stool tests with nothing found. Doctors say I am fine, but I know I am not. I don’t think I am going to die, but I think something is not right with my body. I am just really frustrated as my symptoms cause severe anxiety. I don’t know what to do, anything you can contribute would be great.

Hard to say without details of your history, like diet, medication/drug/alcohol use, medical history, supplements taken, etc. I had something similar, that was partly due to an intracellular Magnesium deficiency. Do some research and see if anything fits. The thing about Magnesium (Mg) is that a deficiency will not show in blood tests, as you body will keep taking MG from your cells to maintain a constant level in your blood. MG is responsible for over 300 vital functions, like heart rate, hydrochloric acid and serotonin production, etc. So your body will fight to maintain a correct level in your blood, all the while depleting your tissue (intracellular) level. There are a few tests for cellular deficiency, but it is not commonly done, and many doctors will not consider it. But he thing is, a large percentage of modern population is deficient in Mg, as we have deviated from our normal diet as determined by evolution, due to the modern food supply.
Having said all that, then my other guess is stress. do some research on stress as well- the health implications of chronic stress are many and varied, and can affect all the systems you are having trouble with. There is a great book on stress and health called “Why Zebras Don’t get Ulcers”, written by a cutting-edge stress researcher. Good luck!
