It is very interesting indeed. The first person that thinks, that use electricity as a means of execution was a man named Alfred Southwick, he saw a drunken man died after hitting "exposed terminal on a generator of life." Then, Harold P. Brown actually invented the president himself. He worked for Thomas Edison and his specialty was electrocution. It has actually been committed to develop the president and that is why much of the credit goes to Edison. "Brown's design was based on George Westinghouse current (AC), which was then emerging as Edison's rival is less efficient in transport current (DC), which was later in the Commercial development. The decision to use the air conditioning is fully compatible with Edison's attempt to claim that AC was more deadly than DC. (Wikipedia.com) And apparently when it comes time to replace the hanging and the electric chair to use, or Edison or Westinghouse wanted their pattern of use because of the bad publicity that would provide (I like electricity in your home by the same current that kills murderers?) For Edison and Brown has done all these events to the CA, killing animals in public, to demonstrate that it was more deadly than DC. It worked because the CA has been used for the electric chair.
