In your opinion, which is better, a high chair booster seat, or a standard high chair?

A lot of people have been recommending using the booster seats, are they really better than a standard high chair? Are they as safe? Does the baby need to be older/bigger to sit in them? I love the fact that they are much smaller, and much cheaper! Do you need to have a chair to use them, or can you use them on the ground (e.g. going on a picnic)? Thanks!!!

i personally don’t have a booster seat, but if i could do it all over again i would definitely say forget the high chair and go for the booster. the high chair is huge and bulky and forget about packing it up and putting it away after each use… yah right. my son barely even uses it anymore. he eats in his entertainer, in the bumbo chair, anywhere. the high chair is a little pointless. i would think you could use a booster seat on the ground, i just wouldn’t put it up on anything, like the kitchen table, because of the risk of a fall, but i say, go for the booster seat!
