Does anyone know where I can get free or cheap diabetic testing strips for the Accu-Chek Aviva?

I am 24 years old and insulin dependent with out insurance. I spend 600 dollars a month for healthcare including doctor visits and medicine. I have no insurance and do not qualify for any type benefits. Can anyone give me some type of advice?

I know how you feel, been there and am there. You should call your doctor or the next time you go to the doctor tell him about the above. Many companies now offer assistance with diabetic supplies at little or no cost to the patient. Your doctor should have this information. That is what helped me lower the cost of my diabetic supplies. The doctor will have to fill out a form for you and send it in for review, to the company. You may end up having to change meters, but it will be worth if it saves you money or you can get everything you need for free.
