Glucometer device “Accu Chek”?
Hello
I am looking to buy a Gluco meters (a device) that measures sugar level in blood, I was advised to buy “Accu Chek” as the best well-known and popular brand among the diabetics, I went to check and read about it on the web, I found the following items all are offered by the same company:
Accu Check performa,
Accu Check aviva,
Accu Check glucos meters,
Accu Check compact plus,
Accu Check glucometer,
Accu Check advantage,
Accu Check aviva test strips,
Accu Check active,
Accu Check multicilix
Could any one advise what are the differences between the mentioned devices in above? And which one is the best and most accurate, I will appreciate your answeres and thank you so much friends,
As they’re all made by the same company, they all have a pretty decent level of accuracy. All glucometers, however, are only required to be accurate within 20%.
The MultiClix is a lancing device (used to prick your finger). You’ll need one of these, but all of the glucometers come with one by default, so you don’t have to buy one separately.
The Performa, Aviva, Compact Plus, Advantage and Active are all glucometers, or glucose meters. This is what you’ll need. I’ve heard really good things about the Compact Plus — it’s small and portable, and as accurate as the others.
The test strips are required to USE the glucometers, so you’ll need some of these as well. This is the most expensive part. I get about 100-200 of these a month (as I test from 4-8 times a day), but you won’t necessarily need that many, depending on your health problem.
