Will using a leather strop on a slide coated with a layer of Teflon was?

I have a beautiful knife to give a razor blade and a leather skin but I'm affraid it would be some Teflon coating. Are you going to do fine with a knife or rub the surface? (Obviously not exactly flat, but with a contact angle of about thats).
