will store bought orthotics like spenco work if I replace my insoles?

My sneakers come with cheap flimsy insoles. I can buy Spenco or Dr Scholl’s in pharmacies. Will they help for foot pain associated with running, or do I have to get custom orhotics from a podiatrist?

If you have severe flat feet or a previous foot injury getting custom orthotics is the best bet.
If you just have sore feet and are on your feet a lot then insoles in the pharmacy work well. Dr. Scholl’s gel inserts work great.
