Can you get a reliable/accurate digital ear thermometer from target or Wal-mart?

My baby is due in June so I would need it for a newborn.

I have yet to see an accurate/reliable digital ear/scan thermometer ANYWHERE…I hate them. I never get the same results. If I’m really worried about my sons temp…I take a rectal reading.
I bought a really expensive one at Walmart (30 bucks or more) and it doesn’t work either.
