How can I fix my digital camera, the lens wont go back in and the shutter wont open?

I have a sony DSC-P10 digital camera. My freind dropped it and the lens wont go back in. I could send it in for repairs but it would take too long and its too costly to do that. Can anyone explain how I can fix it myself?
