In the UK there are mobility scooters can be transported in a car without permanent removal?

I try to help disabled Mother found mobility scooter that can be taken to the back of a car without having to remove battery or curve. Perhaps it could be driven with a ramp at the rear the car. Have limited mobility and can not use a wheelchair or electric wheelchair. Your help would be much appreciated if not life changing, because it means that my mother would finally win its independence. If you could point me in the direction of finding a car model and model of scooter and I have to take road safety checked? Thanks in advance x
