If my boyfriend bring a wheelchair or a scooter in New York?

My boyfriend and I are visiting New York during the weekend of Memorial Day. My boyfriend has cerebral palsy and can not walk very well, so it would be a wheelchair or scooter. That would be better? The advantage is that the wheelchair can folded and carried in a taxi. The disadvantage of the wheelchair is not the greatest arm strength and I'm afraid I'd end up pushing through the city. However, the bike would ideal for traveling, but it is big and heavy and I can not go to a cabin so it probably would be limited to the area around Times Square, where we're staying, which is a nuisance because I really want to see curiosities.

I suggest you bring lawn chairs so you can get in and out of the cab with you or gets tired. Or better yet, the book a journey through the city on a Greyhound-type society so you can see all the sites without having to pass one of the chair! There are many companies who do this kind of tour of major cities. You can see all the important sites and if there is something I want to go back and look longer term, you can always take a taxi there (just recall where it is!). Have a great time!
