Is it possible for orthotic prescriptions to change(worse) in one year?

I was prescribed custom orthotics for flat feet and to take away shin splints and other problems. However, they worked for about 6 months and then I started to get terrible pains and problems again. I was told my prescription changed. They are expensive too. Please answer the above question only. I AM NOT LOOKING FOR EXERCISES! Thanks a bunch.
–I am 14 years old and I wear the same shoe size as I did when I got my orthotics one year ago.
