How can I protect the suede on my saddle?

I have a Bates Isabell dressage saddle, its a few years old but I’ve just bought it from a girl on my yard because she was selling it and it was a perfect fit on one of my horses. Anyway, it has a suede seat and suede knee rolls. Looks great but I find it scuffs easily and it wears where the seams of your jods go (general wear and tear I know). I don’t particularly like suede but I don’t ride in that saddle so it doesn’t matter to me, but I want to know how to protect it from getting scuffed. I have an Albion K2 Legend Event on one of my horses, its about 5 years old and it looks like new! I don’t want this Isabell looking tatty in a few years (it was expensive lol, I want my money’s worth!). I have a fleece saddle cover for when it’s being stored, anything else I can do to keep it looking tip top?

By clean and condition, I hope they don’t mean anything liquid. NEVER use water on suede.

For suede, a brass bristled brush (say that fast three times) is your best friend. Brush it with short ‘pulling’ strokes all over. Then follow up with a gentle circular motion.

This loosens dirt and keeps the ‘nap’ raised, also keeps the shiny wear spots from being obvious.
