My 10 year old has really bad foot pain in the mornings and during the day after sitting a while what is it?

Does anyone know what it is? I tried rubbing his foot in the morning but he said it hurts really bad. My other child’s physical therapist suggested that we get some insoles for his shoes with gel. Or should I just find a foot Doctor.

More information is needed in order to make a more specific diagnosis, but morning pain is one of the symptoms of plantar fasciitis, a painful inflammatory condition that results mainly from over-pronation. Over-pronation frequently results from biomechanical imbalance caused by poor arch support in flat-footed individuals.

If this is the case with your child, arch support insoles are recommended, rather than just gel insoles.
