less expensive hearing aids are advertised on television (eg Bionic hearing, etc.) work Really? I am very hard of hearing and I can not afford to buy a hearing Aid.But desperately need something.

I have heard that only amplify sound, but that includes all the ambient (background) sound as well. Maybe they are working good for someone at home.
