TWINS??Summer Heart to Heart fetal Monitor???? TWINS?

i recently purchesed a fetal heart beat monitor wich seems to be working very well but i do have a little bit of a concern i think i may be hearing two heart beats! still have not had an ultra sound or been to the docter to hear the heart beat (have appointment next week) the heart beat seems to be VERY fast is there a possibility that we are hearing Two heart beats! beating seperatly causing it to sound so fast or could ther be something wrong any advice would be greatly appriciated I am 17 weeks pregant have had a pergnancy test at the hospital ! both heart beats are VERY VERY FAST and i know one is not mine ive listened to mine and its much much slower then the two im hearing

Sometimes, It can seem like you are picking up 2 heartbeats. The doppler machine that you bought/rented should come with a warning about that, mine did. A fetal heart rate will be very fast, the normal is between 120-160. A little higher okay, too. Mine is usually in the 170 range. If it is not a doppler that displays the heart rate, get a watch and count the beats for 15 seconds, then multiply by 4. Listen to what you think is the second heart rate, and count that one also. If the are very close to the same, chances are it is just one baby. You could also be hearing the placenta or the artery on the right side. But those would be the same as your heart rate, so if it is super fast, chances are that it’s not what you are hearing.
