Is my Heart beat rate/pulse rate really Fine? Pls Help?

I’m 23, skinny, rarely exercise, usually have heart beat between 65-90, which is normal. However, recently at night I tend to have heavy and slow heart beat/pulse rate between 38-42 per min. Sometimes it last for 5-10 minutes, sometimes an hour or more. And the werid thing is, when the heavy heart beat sensation was gone, my pulse rate jumps back to the normal 60+ in the next min. It usually happens at night when I was about to sleep, and I wasn’t doing anything that require stamina nor anything that excite me. The doctor says it’s totally fine, but I’m still worried because the searches I found on the internet says otherwise. Please tell me is it really normal?

The key about slow heart rates is “Does it cause symptoms?”

In general, if a slow heart rate does not cause symptoms it is OK.

If your heart rate is slow (under 30bpm) and you are extremely fatigued, passing out, etc, it is probably too slow and you need to visit a doctor.

It also depends on whether your heart rate increases with exercise appropriately.

Most people with heart rates in the 40-60 range tolerate it pretty well. Again, as long as it increases normally when you are active, and you don’t have any problems doing cardio workouts with your heart beating in the 120-160 range – then you are fine…
