Home Blood Pressure

Blood pressure averages 106/82 (on home blood pressure monitor) … is the lower number too high?
I am a 37-year-old female who is actively trying to lose 40 pounds. Hypertension runs very high on both sides of my family, even for those who are not overweight. Is there anything I can do to lower my bottom number to the 60s? (At first blush, I would think bumping up my exercise may do the trick.)
From a strictly Hypertensive perspective those numbers are fine…
However the pulse pressure (difference between the two numbers) is rather low, either your not using the b.p. cuff right, its broken (both highly likely) or your in shock (highly unlikely if numbers are consistent) or your exhibiting early signs of congestive heart failure…
I suspect a quick skim through the instruction manual to make sure your using it right, will fix the issue… If that doesn’t do it Get a professional/ higher quality test to compare and test it on others too, just to see (if its working right). If the professional test shows the low pulse pressure (25 or less ~40 is normal and up to 100 is healthy) then it might be something to worry about, and make sure to ask your doctor.
And theres no special trick to lowering just one of the numbers, they are physiologically linked. So whats good for keeping the Hyper tension away is also good for lowering your bottom number (diastolic pressure).
