Is it permissible to use orthotics to the gym?

I have extremely flat feet and has been diagnosed with plantar fasciitis. My podiatrist gave me orthotics (insoles) and have eased my pain immensely. Now I can walk without pain and want to join a gym to lose weight. My question is, is allowed to exercise high-impact orthopedics? I do not want to hurt my feet so far. What exercises I can do and I should avoid, if any? I know I should ask my podiatrist, but my appointment is next week and would start working so soon.

Well that because I am a person who needs braces. Sometimes when I run heavy foot (long distance) my feet are cramping and pain there. However, exercise is very light, things like aerobics, orthothics could help no more than use.
