Are orthodic insoles good for you?

I just got some custom made insoles for my cleats. I wouldn’t think they would correct my foot position when I walk and run, but is there any chance it could make it worse? I broke my foot a few years ago, and I walk with my feet a little in, it gave me shin splints. Can this make it worse?

I wear them, I started wearing them when I was 5 due to very flat feet. Anyway, when I became an adult I quit wearing them for many years and began ahving lots of trouble with feet and knees and hips and actually ended up with a nerve problem and had to have a cortizone shot in the heel of one of my feet, that really hurt! I also had planter fascitis, not a fun thing! Needless to say after all that I now have the custome insoles and I think it has really helped, I also don’t have the ankle pain that I used to have. This will really help with the shin splint healing!

You should wear them all the time, not just in your cleats! It does take several days to get accustomed to them being in your shoes, and for your body to get used to them, because everything will travel up to your low back…but I can assure you once you are used to them you will see a difference, and then if you go a day (like when I wear my flip flops) I really notice. If you have trouble getting used to them I recommend going to see a chiropracter, he will help with the adjustment and get some oil and massage your feet, ankles, shins and knees.
