Why do I have pain in the joints, and what causes it?
I'm only 18, almost 19. I ran cross country for six years and Park has done a lot of pretty hard on my knees and, recently, this past year I have been doing what I can only describe as pain in the joints. It's a pain in my knee is not muscular and my doctor told me that they were growing pains. So if I have arthritis in the knee now?
Consult your health care provider as soon as possible (rheumatologist). It depends on the symptoms. The cold reduces inflammation and swelling and relieve pain better than the heat (although the alternation between hot and cold provides more relief for some people). But the cold can increase stiffness. The heat relaxes the muscles and tendons and promotes circulation, the best option to boost the mobility of joints. Finally, heat and cold can help one to master muscle spasms. Approach you choose, follow these precautions: Applying heat or cold for only 15-20 minutes to an hour, leaving the skin returns to normal temperature before reapplying. Place a cloth or towel between the skin and the heating or cooling apparatus. Stop immediately if blisters or becomes dark red or mottled red and white. Do not use heat or cold-damaged skin. And no use if you suffer from poor circulation, nerve damage or a condition that can cause problems such as diabetes, Raynaud's disease or vasculitis. Otherwise, acetaminophen, aspirin, ibuprofen, naproxen or as long as you feel significant pain. Listen to the message of pain and try not to do anything that aggravates the pain. If you have arthritis, make sure you take your medicines according to the instructions .. Hope this helps. And good luck.
