Knee Patellar Tendon

Knee Patellar Tendon
Injured patellar tendon pain continues still 7 months later?

about 7 months ago I was going up hard wood steps and I fell, the impact of the blunt edge of the step hit right on the front of my knee. It was agonizing pain and the knee began swelling up. It ended up very swollen almost the size of a tennis ball for about 2 weeks. It was bruised black. After 3 months of constant pain I decided to get it checked out by an orthopedic surgeon. He said it was a patellar tendon injury and noted the weakness in my quad resulting from it (he did xrays etc). I went to Physical Therapy for 2 months and found no relief at all, at times it even make it feel worse. So in the past 2 months my knee has been feeling a little better so I began working out again. Big mistake because after a few workouts my knee is back to where it was and I can barely go up steps. Anyone have any similar experience or advice. I really don’t want to go to PT again cause it was so much $ and didn’t help one bit.

Couldn’t you get it surgically repaired?
