What can I use to clean a pair of custom-made orthotics that started smelling (and possibly causing a rash)?

They are roughly 7 years old, but feel great! The bottom part is made of a hard rubber, the middle layer is some type of foam, and the top part is a soft leather. The rash is a light-brown spotted rash that is only on the upper foot by the toes and on the ankles, but I can’t find anything like it at dermatology websites. I can’t afford $480 for another pair of custom made orthotics, and those ones they sell on TV don’t work for me–they feel like I’m walking with a rock under each foot! Please help!

Try some Febreze. It’s pretty effective at killing odors.
