Who provides assistance to children who need medical equipment?

I work with a woman whose eight-year-old granddaughter has arthrogryposis, a common and congenital disease of connective tissue. The girl's mother is having a difficult time right now with finances. The military family benefits, but I'm not sure how much. The mother has to pay for new recruits for his daughter's leg and a walker again, but she needs a new wheelchair due to a wheel wrong. I wanted to try to see what resources exist for this family. Suggestions? They live in Ohio, United States
