No cold water in my shower ?

I just moved into a new home and I have no cold water in the master bath shower. I tried calling the builder but they are closed until Jan. 2. Does anyone know what to do to fix this problem. Its a Moen single lever. Thanks everyone.

It sounds like you might have part of the cold water valve stuck in the faucet (if all of your other faucets are giving out cold water fine) OR they could have forgot to turn on the cold water completely at the turn on valve.

In any case, I would pay to have a new home inspection done on your home to make sure all systems are working properlly AND to assure all are properly installed to code for yours and your family’s safety. Most people save money and heartache over the long haul by paying to have an inspection. It helps hold the builder to what should’ve been done in the first place.

The fact you don’t have a basic such as cold water in a shower, tells you that the builder didn’t even do a basic final inspection to make sure all was ready to go. What else inside the house was passed over or patched for appearances that might have compromised your safety? Get an inspection. If your inspector finds a basic issue that should have been done differently (and almost all inspectors will find one) you should then ask the builder to pay for the inspection. Most will since they know that a small claims court will almost always see in your favor for a reimbursement of an inspection claim if you had just cause to pay for one.
