Is it a good move for me to take an EMT-B course before nursing school?

My town doesn’t offer a CNA course, but I am taking an EMT-B course. Even if it doesn’t HELP me in nursing school, could it help get my foot in the door and show some promise to nursing schools?

It certainly would not hurt!! I think that taking an EMT class is far better preparation for college than a CNA course could ever be. The community college in my town that has that class offers 5 college credits for it! I don’t think any college offers credits for a CNA course!
Besides that, hospitals would rather have an EMT in a “nursing tech”, “patient care tech”, or “clinical tech” position because it shows that you have the knowledge to handle a college-level course and have learned to do more than “wipe a butt”. Best wishes!
