What is methadone treatment for opiate addiction?

I just want to hear from people who use perscribing of use of methadone for opiate addiction detox. This is not only the use of methadone for detoxification from heroin, but also the detoxification opiate dependence all narcotics. Whatd aboiut think, Do you have any experience with it, do you think that is a success for Methadone detoxification or not? Or any other idea you have on the use of methadone. Have you ever heard of methadone are abused, etc … basically anything you want ie, personal or medical opionions would be too great, never say what you want, I need your opinion on some research I do (I just need to read wehat you say, I'm not going to write up or anything) Thanks in advance.
