Why can not seem to get a pair of jeans right?

Whenever I buy jeans i get so stressed out! If I buy size 10 (United Kingdom) tend to be somewhat loose and then when I wear them, that are loose around the waist and I have to keep throwing up, but when I try to size 8 (United Kingdom) in which I can not get in my thighs! please help I am tired of living in underwear! : (
