Why not believe the delay marks the battery?

I've always heard that it's not supposed to change alkaline batteries when put things in their batteries. Like today, I used 2 and 1 Duracell Rayovac, because that's all I could find in my drawer tray. The object works fine. Why Why not say to the mix? Is the life of the battery does not last so long? Why? Is there more "bad" things about mixing and matching? Just something stupid, I always wondered about.

Nothing will not explode, but different brands of battery can use different chemicals and in different proportions, which can cause the current produced is a little different. A battery can be slightly higher amperage (current strength) than the other. The existing differences could potentially damage your electronic equipment, especially over time.
