What is a pre-pop test for a safety relief device?
Why is that important to have it done?
Is it expensive to have the safety relief device pre-popped?
What information does the pre-pop test yield?
This is a test to make sure the device works.When you install a pop off valve on top of a ten story boiler,it had better pop off or people are going to die.It relieves the pressure if, something goes wrong. I was on a catwalk one day,at a papermill when one went off, i went one way,my hard hat went the other way,scared the hell out of both of us. Ha! There are really LOUD.
