whats the seat belt law for side facing bench seats in a land rover?

I am thinking about buying a land rover safari as i have six children and seating is a problem but dont kno what the law states about side facing bench seats. Is it legal to drive on the road with side facing seats without seat belts or are seat belts not required for these seats ???????
