Shoulder Pain
By Charlie on Sep 2, 2008 in Hearing & Orthepedic

had a laparoscopic myomectomy on Monday. Has anyone felt horrible shoulder pain with this type of surgery?
My recovery seems to be going nicely except for shoulder pain! Not sure why? It has something to do with the CO2 gas they pump into you. I was just curious if anyone else had experienced this weird, and awful pain with the shoulder. If so, what did you to do ease the pain?
I had that procedure done about 3 years ago. The CO2 is exactly why your shoulders hurt. The are able to get most of it out, but the gas that still lingers behind in your body is rising and trying to escape through your shoulders. I just took painkillers and used a heat pad. It goes away in about 3 days or so.
