I have a knot in the back of my Achilles tendon do not know why.?

i normally wear flat shoes shin splints me, I wearing a pair of boots with heels HIG andhad pain in my ankle. I know they have a hump on the back or side of the leg where my Achilles tendon. I do not play sports or not exercise. Thanks
