leaking through super plus tampon?

im 13 and i used a super plus tampon for the first time (i’ve used other type of tampons before but not this absorbency). when i came home from school and went to change it i leaked through it. is it normal? i’m probably at school for about 7 or 8 hours.

Yes, that is normal. You’ve had a tampon in way longer than you should have. Also, tampon size is based on absorbency, meaning how much fluid it can hold before it’s saturated. That will depend on your period.

I have to use the super plus on the first 2 days of my period, and I have to change it every 3 hours. By the time the third day has gotten here, I can usually move to a smaller size.

Just remember, you don’t want to leave tampons in any longer than you have to. It’s not good for your body. Just take a couple extra with you to school, and if it’s at the start of your period, you may have to change it once or twice.
