Is it recommended to switch the Nike Free insole with a store-bought pair of insoles?

I’m interested in barefoot running and the benefits associated. I just ordered a pair of Nike Free shoes online, which should arrive soon.

I run barefoot as often as possible. The answer is completely remove the insole. My friend who I know very well owns a pair of Nike Frees and he removed the insole. You don’t want it because you don’t want any form of support in your minimalist shoe (And don’t add a new one because that also defeats the purpose) .

I prefer Vibram Five Fingers to the Frees. I don’t own a pair of Frees because the heel feels too fat after being barefoot for the past 5 months.

Make sure you take it easy when you begin running Barefoot or with minimalist shoes. Your arch will be loaded with a lot of weight and needs GRADUAL strengthening over a long period of time. So take it slow and your body will get stronger. Just give it time.
