First technical assistance to injury?

I had (what I call) I threw a patella tendon. I'm barely able to standing on one leg to walk on. Yesterday, (but) put too much leg strength, building a house. – I did not realize a "strong (recorded), feeling "all around my knee in the morning. This. considrably my knee was swollen and painful (but only" bad "when I bent my knee to 30 degrees or less.) I ask all first aid you can to it, hope you can address any future injury / leg pain. If I apply a cold compress first (for how long)? and a warm welcome (pac how long)? I bought an Icy Hot-pac My local Wal Mart and I'm using this as soon as possible. So thanks for therapy advice. You ice it has for the first 24-48 hours when the area is too cold for that, then delete and repeat as necesarry. You can then use the heat to revive and relax the muscles and tendons. Take some Advil or something to help relive the pain. If this dosent better next week to go to an orthopedic physician specilizes and try to get on his knees. Improvement.
