Toe Stockings

Would it be weird to wear stockings with open toes?
I have a ceremony thing for school this Friday. I’ve got the dress down, but not the shoes. Um, I want to wear stockings mostly because it covers up the scars on my legs and my mom doesn’t let me shave so it’s embarrassing. The only shoe’s my mom has for me to use are these cute open toed sandals type shoes because I don’t want to wear one of her heels.
Stocking will be fine as long as they do not have the reinforced toe. I’ve seen a lot of girls wear them. In fact, I think it looks very lady like (like Grace Kelly) to wear stockings even with sandals.
