What could be wrong with my neck?

I sprained my neck a few months ago, but it was always achy after it stopped hurting. The achy pain would subside when i cracked my neck. However, one night my neck wouldn’t crack and the ache just got worse and i started to get a headache and dizzyness. I went to the doctor and he said something about muscle spasms, so i took it easy for a couple days and the headaches have gone away, but my neck is still achy if not painful and i still get dizzy. I got traction on my neck as therapy and it made me extremely dizzy after. If someone could tell me something i could do to make it better, or what it is, it would be much appreciated!

yeah, two things. First, I would sleep with a neck brace on that way while your sleeping your not causing more damage. Another thing, I have injured my neck working out ( I know different situation ) But it had the same effect, it would hurt really bad and when I cracked my neck to the sides and up and down it would feel 10x better for a little while, then the pain came back. I just took glucosimine joint supplements and just went really easy on it. Took about a month but my neck is 100% functional and it hasn’t given me any problems for over a year. It might help that I’m young (in my 20’s).
