i can cycle after cystectomy?

I'm a cyclist, and more than 20 years, but am having a cystectomy in near future. Im told by my counselor when I am completely cured after surgery, I'll be able to resume my training / competition. The thing is some of my walks / runs for 2-3 hours and I'm worried that the adhesive had to sweat it. Also, I tried a urostomy bag and the bottom where is drain valve is on the road every time my hip movements in each pedal stroke! Are there any cyclists with urostomy pockets / bags possibly I can help with this thanks? in advance, Nick.

Hi Nick, I feel I need this surgery but yes, you have a urostomy bag, but look at the company that sells them. Foley's? They have bags of all sizes. It is a bit like a small IV bag which is made for sports fans like you. Only short-term bike and once you've finished, you can replace private or wait until you get home. Now the adhesive. I had this problem with many of my patients were stationary. It is a product to be put on your skin before applying the adhesive. This allows for maximum bore. Another solution would be the tape around the bag once they are applied to the stoma. Use silk ribbon, no paper. The paper does not stick well in situations of heat or sweat. I hate it. So look at the company to obtain their supplies and I know it will find a solution. Good luck on your journey. God bless.
